From First Contact to Confident Partnership

At the Donkeys of the Heart, a child’s journey begins long before riding.
Enrollment means learning responsibility, awareness, and respect—step by step.

Each student is taught how to:

  • Approach and care for their donkey

  • Groom with attention and intention

  • Prepare equipment correctly and tack their donkey

  • Apply clear, age-appropriate safety rules

  • Walk alongside the donkey with focus

  • Ride through a progressive learning process where self-esteem grows, communication becomes clearer, and body awareness is gradually refined

This progression is deliberate. It builds confidence, emotional regulation, and real-life skills—while honoring the donkey as a partner, not a tool.

For families, it offers a structured, competence-based environment where children develop at their own pace.
For volunteers, it is an opportunity to join a serious, well-defined program where learning, safety, and animal welfare come first.

Quiet moments. Real work. Lasting impact.
